Finish It Up

Did I mention that I forgot to take my camera to Asilomar??? Seriously, I completely spaced on it. I loaded everything into a big pile in the living room to pack in the car on the morning of departure.....I packed the camera case, and made sure that I have several SD cards, and the backup charger, and the backup battery. I packed the new gorillapod (a fancy tripod with grippy wrap around legs). I had the sewing machine, linens, pillows, projects, and assorted quilt requirements, all in a pile. But I wanted to make sure that the camera was in the inside of the car, so that I could stop in Santa Barbara and take some pics, and take some pics in San Luis Obispo without unloading the car...so I put the actual camera next to my purse on the counter, and walked off and left it right there......long story short, no pics from Asilomar other than fuzzy instagram ones, a few on the ipad and the iphone, but no really good ones (which is completely relative, since my good pictures lack a certain quality)....

So, I had to wait until I got home to show you the things I worked on. I didn't have a real plan for Asilomar....I really wanted to see how I felt, and enjoy my time there, and have a real vacation. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I'm simply saying I wanted to sew on things I wanted to work on, not necessarily things that I needed to work on.....so I took bunches of projects....Summer Solstice, Forever Yours, Glacier Star, Bali Bedrunner (for binding), Christmas Pepperdish, Witches Brew, and I let the fun happen.....I didn't get as much done as I had hoped, but then I never do.....

I finished my Summer Solstice...and I am okay with it. Not super crazy about it, but I do like it, and it is in my color way.....

Can you tell which piece I don't like???? that pesky turquoise center. I wish I has switched that turquoise print with the teal on on the other side of the pale turquoise wrapper, it just needs more contrast. The picture doesn't show it too well, but it has a stripey pieced border, in accenting fabrics, which I really like.

I worked on the binding for the lovely Touch of Spring and got it all completed, and even got all of the handwork done, which was nice and relaxing.

I also got a large section of the bali wedding binding done, and I need to find some time sit down and bind my heart out....I don't really see that happening in the near future, as I have the urge to work on Glacier Star....

so back to work I will go.

Happy Quilting!!!
